Completed Animatic - Dancer
https://vimeo.com/117195666
Synopsis:
A young teenage girl, called Molly, aged around 17 years old is a plus size dancer. She has always been bullied for her size and thinking she can dance. At a competition she is again made fun of by a group of girls. Although they laugh Molly ignores them and dances, blocking everyone out. She tells the audience a story while she dances about how she became a dancer. In the end she come second in the competition, but she doesn't care where she comes, it wasn't about winning, it was about showing everyone that she could dance no matter what size she is.
I first came up with the idea at the Bradford Animation festival watching some of Joanna Quinn's work. I didn't have the full idea, i just came up with the basic outline. After talking to different people in the class they helped me come up with end result.
I feel the target audience would be mainly aimed towards young girls who are facing similar situations in their, maybe not through dancing but generally in life. Although i feel that a lot of different audiences might relate to being bullied, the younger audience might relate more as it is a young teenage girl as the protagonist.
I enjoyed making this animatic as it was nice to see the end result come to life. If i ever came back to this i think i would change some of the dance moves and draw then in different points of views and overall try and draw it better and in more detail.

Task 2 - Lip Sync
My Lip Sync - I have a plan
https://vimeo.com/117171712
Although i like this animation as my first ever lip sync, i would change a lot. Like making him not float across, making him less sketchy, making the table smaller or getting rid of it, as it draws you away from the lip sync itself.

Week 14 - Pumpkins
These were the pumpkins we drew from.
I found this hard as i don't normally draw vegetables and it is something i am going to have to practice.

Task 3 - Walk Cycle
My sad walk cycle
https://vimeo.com/117171710
I am pleased with my walk cycle as it looks sad, which is what i was going for. I would add some more frames though next time to make it less jumping and flow better.

Task 4 - Reaction
My Bad Smell Reaction, done in Maya

https://vimeo.com/117171711 - Front view
I was very happy with this animation as i had never used Maya before. I feel it is a life like reaction, although if i were to changed it i would changed where the body seems to sharply move forward.
